It's been a great month to be in Northeast Minneapolis. For starters, the housing market has remained red hot throughout the Twin Cities, with prices up 2.7% for single-family homes in August compared to a year ago . Not only are prices up, but volume is, too. Appropriately priced homes are selling quickly, sometimes within days of being put on them market. But not everyone is reaping the benefits of a bull market. Homes that are overpriced and/or dated are sitting in the market. If you don't know how much your home is worth, give me a call – not only am I a local real estate agent, I'm a licensed appraiser.
Business is booming, too. The neighborhood's food scene is getting a boost from three great new restaurants. The old Modern Cafe on 13th Ave is gaining a new tenant with the Sheridan Room taking over, adding new energy to this already fun block. Just down the block, at the corner of 13th and 2nd, Pizzeria Lola is new restaurant to their acclaimed brand on the same block as Dangerous Man Brewing. And the fellas who own The Anchor Fish and Chips are set to open a sandwich joint in the Food Building on Marshall and 14th. Hungry yet?
But it's not all business in Northeast. We had a great event at Septemberfest, and Northeast Realty is proud to have helped raise money for the area's four Catholic churches. Even more fun, we sponsored some kids' games and had a great time with our neighbors.
Stay tuned for next month's announcements, which will include a Halloween-themed event (pumpkin giveaway, anyone?) and more. To my neighbors, thank you for helping make a great month. And for those interested in becoming neighbors, give me a call and I'll work to find the perfect place for you and your family.
