As 2015 draws to a close, I’d like to mention one of my favorite organizations. This past year, East Side Neighborhood Services celebrated its 100th anniversary - quite a feat. ESNS has a robust offering of services, including early childhood development, youth empowerment, help for the hungry, activities for senior citizens, family support, and income stability programs. There’s something for everyone there, and the organization is a tremendous asset to Northeast Minneapolis.
Another favorite program is Camp Bovey, which has been serving local youth for over 60 years. In fact, I went to ESNS’s Camp Bovey when I was a child. It’s an experience I haven’t forgotten. Still today, the camp is a great opportunity for city kids to spend time in nature.
In recent years, I’ve been working in conjunction with ESNS. If you’d like to join me in some of our fundraisers or other activities, send me a message. We’d love the help.
